New Delhi, Feb. 8 -- BJP is set to form the government in Delhi after securing a historic victory in the assembly elections, winning 48 seats and marking its return to power in the national capital after 27 years.

The BJP leaders also termed the mandate as "historic" and hailed the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

BJP MP Manoj Tiwari told ANI, "Forming a government with 48 seats is historic. We thank the people of Delhi and we will now work for the betterment of Delhi. We will make Delhi a world-class capital city... "

BJP candidate Tarvinder Singh Marwah who defeated AAP candidate Manish Sisodia told ANI, "...The public of Delhi has bestowed their trust on PM Modi's guarantees..."
