Raipur, Dec. 29 -- Renowned poet Kumar Vishwas on Monday called on the Centre to take serious note of the reported violence against minorities in Bangladesh, describing the situation as "Extremely tragic".

Vishwas said the government would already be deliberating on the issue and urged global attention to the matter. He pointed out that while some people raise loud objections over murders carried out by unidentified attackers and attempt to involve the Indian government without justification, they fail to speak up when minorities face violence in the neighbouring country.

According to Vishwas, this silence exposes clear "double standards" of such people.
