Jammu, Sept. 24 -- BJP MP Gulam Ali Khatana on Wednesday welcomed the Election Commission of India (ECI) decision to hold by-elections for four Rajya Sabha seats in Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking to ANI, BJP MP said, "The Election Commission of India is an autonomous body, and it conducts different elections from time to time. We welcome this."

Khatana further said that the central government has been adopting a cautious approach in Jammu and Kashmir under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. "India's Prime Minister and Home Minister are progressing cautiously in J&K, addressing every aspect of democracy, from assembly to parliament, security, and peace," Khatana said.
