New Delhi, March 16 -- Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit on Sunday slammed the Assam government over the arrest of the Congress spokesperson Reetam Singh by the Lakhimpur Police in Guwahati.

Reetam Singh, the Congress war room coordinator in Assam, was detained by Assam Police from Guwahati on suspicion of spreading a fake video of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Dikshit stated that it was doubtful whether the Assam government followed the law, considering how they had been functioning for the last few days.

Further, he stated that the law should take its course if the spokesperson, Reetam Singh, had committed a crime.
