Jodhpur, Feb. 14 -- Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal on Friday clarified that the dissent notes were included in the Joint Parliamentary Committee report over Waqf Amendment Bill and questioned the basis of opposition protest.

Speaking with the media, Meghawal said that Home Minister Amit Shah has clarified that the government has no issues with dissent notes. He further pressed that the amendment is made for the "benefits" of Muslims.

"The dissent was included in the report. I don't know on which basis they protested against the report in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Home Minister ji said that we don't have any problems with dissents. We are doing this for the benefits of Muslims," Meghwal said.
