New Delhi, Oct. 4 -- Congress MP Imran Masood on Saturday slammed the Uttar Pradesh government after the Samajwadi Party delegation was stopped en route to visit the violence-hit Bareilly.

Speaking to ANI, Masood questioned the intent behind the state government's action.

"I don't know why they don't want them to go. I don't get what message they want to convey, what they want to hide, and why they are not letting them go," Masood said.

The Congress MP's remarks came after an MP delegation of the Samajwadi Party, including Mohibbullah Nadvi, Iqra Hasan, and Harendra Singh Malik, en route to Bareilly following last week's 'I Love Mohammad' row, was stopped at the Ghazipur border by the Uttar Pradesh Police.
