Raipur, Sept. 3 -- Union Minister Ramdas Athawale on Wednesday said that "despite being a Brahim", Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has tried to provide "justice" to the Maratha community.
"There was a demand for the Maratha community to get reservations for many years...Manoj Jarange started the hunger strike at Azad Maidan in Mumbai...Devendra Fadnavis' government has taken a historic decision....Despite being a Brahmin, Devendra Fadnavis has tried to provide justice to the Maratha community...," Athawale told ANI.
The Maharashtra Cabinet has decided to form a six-member cabinet subcommittee for Other Backwards Classes (OBC) community issues following the Maratha reservation decision, with two ministers from each party.
