Jaipur, June 26 -- Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Wednesday slammed the Congress government on the 50th anniversary of the imposition of the Emergency and described the Emergency as a dark period in Indian history, where democratic values were crushed by the then-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi-led government.

Sharma emphasized that June 25, 1975, is recorded in Indian history as 'Samvidhan Hatya Diwas', highlighting the government's attack on democratic institutions.
