New Delhi, Oct. 9 -- Claiming that the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government failed to manage Delhi's garbage problem and the height of landfills went till 65 metres during their tenure, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday promised that the "garbage mountains" will be transformed into a beautiful garden by January 1, 2028.

"During the rule of 'AAP-da' government, the garbage mountains in Delhi reached 65 meters. On January 1, 2028, you will not be able to find the garbage mountain. Construction of a very beautiful garden will begin there..." Shah said while addressing the gathering on the inauguration of Delhi Sewage Treatment Plant.
