New Delhi, May 28 -- Congress MP and Assam Pradesh Congress Committee president on Wednesday responded to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's allegations regarding his visit to Pakistan and clarified that the trip took place over a decade ago, in 2013, and was related to his wife's professional assignment.

Hitting back at Assam CM Sarma's allegations, the Congress MP said that the subject of his visit is being used to "defame him."

"The ruling party's daily bread is defaming someone. They are making a C-grade cinema on this topic, which they announced will be released on September 10. This is going to prove a flop," Gogoi said.
