Kolkata, Dec. 28 -- Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar on Sunday accused the Trinamool Congress (TMC) of fostering communal tensions in West Bengal as part of what he described as "appeasement politics."
He claimed that the TMC cannot see the Babri mosque as the Ram temple "obstructs" their vision.
Majumdar's comments came in response to remarks made by TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee, took a dig at Jan Unnayan Party chief Humayun Kabir, who had earlier joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), that "demolished the mosque".
Kabir, a former BJP member, recently laid the foundation stone for a Babri Mosque in Murshidabad earlier this month. Banerjee had referred to Kabir in connection with the demolition of the mosque.
