Indore, Jan. 7 -- The official death toll due to consumption of contaminated water in Indore's Bhagirathpura area is yet to be known, the district collector said on Wednesday.

Collector Shivam Verma further highlighted that the affected families were given a financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each as per the instructions of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, adding that free treatment was being provided to people undergoing treatment.

In conversation with ANI, Collector Verma said, "According to the survey work being conducted in Bhagirathpura, the number of patients who were continuously showing symptoms of vomiting and diarrhoea has decreased significantly.
