New Delhi, Jan. 26 -- Congress Member Parliament Abhishek Singhvi has accused the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of undermining the true essence of the word "Republic," claiming the current government is operating with a "monarch approach" that dilutes the core concept of a republic.

Speaking at a press conference, Singhvi criticised the Election Commission of India (ECI) for failing to take action against what he described as "hateful propaganda" by the BJP ahead of the Delhi elections. He pointed out the BJP's promotion of the controversial film Delhi 2020, alleging it was an attempt to incite communal hate.
