New Delhi, Aug. 3 -- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Amit Malviya on Sunday launched a scathing attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee after she alleged that the Delhi Police had referred to Bengali as a "Bangladeshi language" in an official letter.

Malviya accused Banerjee of politicising the matter and defending illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators by using language as an emotional trigger.

In a post on X, Amit Malviya wrote, "It is beyond shameful that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is defending a lawful police action against illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators by weaponising language and stoking sentiment."
