New Delhi, July 23 -- Congress MP Jebi Mather raised serious concerns over the Election Commission of India's (ECI) Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, alleging that the exercise threatens the foundation of Indian democracy.

"We are raising this issue... The basic foundation of our democracy is being attacked. The elections play a very crucial role, and in an election, the voter list is the most important thing. And if the voter list itself is being manipulated, and the election commission is supporting all that, then where is democracy heading in our country? This certainly needs to be addressed..," she said.
