Kolkata, May 31 -- West Bengal Assembly LoP and BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari on Saturday criticised the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) over the arrest of social media influencer Sharmishta Panoli, alleging that action is taken only against "Sanatanis."

Criticising further, Adhikari accused the TMC government of engaging in "appeasement politics" stating that this move was taken to appease "certain community."

Speaking to reporters, the BJP leader said, "FIR was filed against Mahua Moitra also. She made derogatory comments about Goddess Kali. Was any action taken? What did their (TMC) MP, Saayoni Ghosh, post regarding Mahadev? Was any action taken? There have been so many FIRs against Firhad Hakim, but there has been no action."
