Mumbai, March 4 -- Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Ram Kadam on Tuesday demanded to suspend Samajwadi Party leader and Maharashtra MLA Abu Azmi over his remarks about Aurangzeb.

"The invader who tortured and betrayed Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, who destroyed temples and places of worship, who enabled forced conversions, how can that person be praised in our country... Anyone who does that is a traitor... Our only demand is that he (Abu Azmi) should be suspended," Ram Kadam told ANI.

Earlier today, Abu Azmi said that his words had been twisted and that he was ready to take back his statement and apologise if sentiments were hurt.
