Kolkata, Feb. 20 -- After Rekha Gupta took oath as the new Chief Minister of Delhi, Leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly and BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari said on Thursday that the entire nation will take pride in seeing a woman CM in the national capital.

Speaking to ANI, Adhikari said, "The people of our country do not call India 'father', they call it 'mother'. A trusted, loyal leader who has been ideologically associated with the BJP from day one has been given a huge responsibility in Delhi."

"That a woman has become the Chief Minister of our country's capital is a proud day for all Indians. I salute and express my gratitude to PM Narendra Modi," he added.
