Bengaluru, Sept. 25 -- Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar remembered late Kannada novelist and screenwriter S.L. Bhyrappa on Thursday.

Speaking to reporters, he praised the writer as a legend in Kannada literature and a great personality.

" I know SL Bhyarappa since 1993-94, when he chaired the Kannada Sahitya Parishad in Kanakapura. He is a legend in Kannada Literature and is a great personality," said Shivakumar.

Deputy Chief Minister also stated that his writings have been translated into various languages and that he is a recipient of several awards, including the Padma Shri and the Padma Vibhushan.
