Medan, Nov. 14 -- A suspect in a suicide bombing at the Medan Police Headquarter was indoctrinated for six months by an unidentified cleric before becoming an extremist and conducting the attack, a high-ranking police official stated here, Thursday.

North Sumatra Vice Police Chief Brig.Gen Pol. Mardiaz Kusin Dwihananto remarked that the suspect's parents-in-law admitted to a change in the behavior of the 24-year-old male RMN, the alleged suicide bomber, in the past six months.

"The family members noticed a sudden change in the suspect's behavior," Dwihananto remarked at the Police's Brigade Mobile HQ in Medan, Thursday.
