IKN, Aug. 13 -- President Joko Widodo ensured that the government will provide cash bonuses to athletes who bag medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

"We will certainly give bonuses for those who won gold to bronze," he said here on Tuesday.

Widodo remarked that gold medalists will receive Rp6 billion, or around US$378 thousand, an increase from the Rp5.5 billion provided earlier.

The Indonesia contingent ranked 39th in the final standings of the 2024 Paris Olympics, winning two gold medals and one bronze.

Rock climbing and weightlifting athletes contributed two gold medals.
