Jayapura, Feb. 25 -- As many as 17 flights from and to Sentani Airport in Papua Province were delayed after a Trigana Air Service cargo aircraft skid off the runway Tuesday morning. "The accident involving a Trigana cargo plane has indeed led to the postponement of 17 flights as the airport was closed shortly after the accident at around 7.20 a.m," the airline company's general manager for Sentani Airport, Anthonius Praptono, stated.

The airport resumed its activities at around 12.00 a.m. after the aircraft was towed away from the scene, he said.

"The airport's operations have returned to normal," he said.

No injuries or casualties were reported in the accident.
