Jakarta, May 2 -- The government is planning to relocate approximately 300 families affected by the eruption of Mount Ruang in Sitaro Islands district, North Sulawesi, to areas determined to be safe from the impact of the volcanic eruption.

"We already have an agreement to relocate 300 families," Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Muhadjir Effendy, informed on Thursday.

According to him, the relocation of the 300 families would be handled directly by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR). Meanwhile, small-scale relocations will be handled by the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB).
