Jakarta, Nov. 13 -- Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Minister I Gusti Ayu Bintang Puspayoga affirmed that the dismal participation of the female workforce in Indonesia has become a challenge for the women's empowerment program for the 2020-2024 period.

"Hence, the president has ordered to bring about improvements in the women empowerment program through entrepreneurship," Bintang stated during a hearing before Commission VIII of the House of Representatives in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Bintang affirmed that the ministry will work closely with the state firms and other government institutions in the program.
