Jakarta, Oct. 20 -- President Joko Widodo has pledged to enable Indonesia to get out of the middle income trap by 2045 in his inaugural address after taking an oath of office as the President of Indonesia for the 2019-2024 term.

"Our dream, our goal is for Indonesia to get out of the middle income trap by 2045, which marks a century of Indonesia's independence," he said following the official inauguration of the country's president and vice president in Jakarta on Sunday.

He explained that, at that time, Indonesia would have earned its place as a developed country with the calculated income of 320 million rupiah per capita per year, or 27 million rupiah per capita per month.
