Jakarta, Nov. 13 -- The Jakarta Metropolitan Police has stepped up security and surveillance near its entrance gates in the aftermath of a suspected suicide bombing attack on the Medan City Police Station in North Sumatra on Wednesday.

"We are stepping up security. We check the belongings of all those entering the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Station as a precautionary measure against any untoward incident," Chief of the Public Relations Service of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Senior Commissioner Argo Yuwono revealed.

All entrances to the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Station through SCBD and Semanggi were tightly guarded.
