Jakarta, May 28 -- The Indonesian government will optimally utilize the climate fund obtained from Norway under a letter of intent (LoI) to achieve the target of greenhouse gas emissions under a nationally determined contribution (NDC) scheme.

Under Law No. 16 of 2016, the Indonesian government has ratified the Paris Agreement or the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to achieve the target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 29 percent on a self-reliant basis, or 41 percent through international assistance, Vice Minister of the Environment and Forestry Ministry Alue Dohong remarked during a press conference marking a decade of Indonesia-Norway cooperation in Jakarta on Wednesday.
