Jakarta, Feb. 22 -- Indonesia's efforts to suppress the amount of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions generated have resulted in a decrease of 875.7 million tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) based on data in 2022.

Indonesian Minister of Environment and Forestry Siti Nurbaya Bakar made the statement during the Workshop of Result Based Contribution of Indonesia's FOLU Net Sink 2030 in Jakarta on Thursday.

"The assessment on national GHG in 2022 shows that the amount of actual GHG emissions generated by Indonesia was at 1.23 gigatons of CO2e, or a decline of 875.7 million tons of CO2e, or around 42 percent," she remarked.
