Jakarta, March 19 -- The Indonesian government has encouraged the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) in issuing a press release to condemn the acts of terrorism at Masjid Al Noor and Masjid Linwood in Christchurch, New Zealand.
The press release was initiated by Indonesia and agreed by the forum only a few hours following the attack, as noted in a written statement issued by Indonesia's permanent representative to the United Nations in New York and received here on Tuesday.
The statement by UNSC was issued on Mar 15, or on the same day when the attack occurred, claiming 50 lives and injuring tens of other victims. Indonesian diplomats in New York have managed to convince other members of the UNSC to affirm the press release.
