Manado, March 19 -- Several Chinese investors have expressed keen interest in managing geothermal sources in Tomohon city, North Sulawesi province, an official said.
"A number of investors are interested in managing geothermal sources in Tomohon city," Head of the North Sulawesi Provincial Investment and Integrated One-Stop Service Henry Kaitjily said in Manado on Tuesday.
The geothermal sources have the potential to generate 1,400 megawatts of electrical power. However, only 200 megawatts of electricity have been produced, he said.
"The large volume (of geothermal energy) is being offered to investors," he said.
