Garut, April 28 -- The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Garut District, West Java, is monitoring the entire area to determine the impact following an earthquake.

Previously, an earthquake measuring 6.5 magnitude and updated to 6.2 occurred in Garut on Saturday evening (April 27) around 11:29 p.m. (local time).

Chief Executive of BPBD Garut, Aah Anwar Saefuloh, when confirmed by journalists in Garut early Sunday morning, said that his staff were monitoring every development in the area after the earthquake.

"We are monitoring reports from the region," Saefuloh said.
