Mataram, Nov. 25 -- Recipients of Bank Indonesia (BI) scholarships and local employees of the central bank in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) planted some eight thousand mangrove trees in the Bagek Kembar ecotourism area in Sekotong, West Lombok, Sunday.

The event, led by BI Representative Office chief in NTB Achris Sarwani, was organized to celebrate the eighth anniversary of Indonesian New Generation (GenBI) in NTB.

"This environmental conservation activity is aimed at restoring and beautifying the Bagek Kembar ecotourism area that has become a tourist destination for mangrove conservation," Sarwani stated.

Tourism development must be promoted continually to facilitate economic development of NTB, he added.
