Jakarta, Oct. 20 -- Chief Patron of the opposition-turned-ally Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto was scheduled to attend the swearing-in ceremony of President-elect Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Vice President-elect Ma'ruf Amin at the parliament building in Jakarta on Sunday, the spokesman stated.
"Insha Allah (God willing) [the party's leader will attend the presidential inauguration]," Prabowo Subianto's Spokesperson Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak stated in Jakarta, late Saturday.
On a separate occasion, Subianto, a former rival of President Jokowi in this year's presidential race, said that his attendance was aimed to respect the Indonesia's constitution and political system.
