India, Nov. 16 -- November 16 is observed as World Tolerance Day to educate people about the need for tolerance in society and to help them understand the negative effects of intolerance. It is said that "Tolerance is respect, acceptance and appreciation of the rich diversity of our world's cultures, our forms of expression and ways of being human."
