India, June 6 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated the world's highest railway bridge over the Chenab river in Jammu and Kashmir, marking a monumental achievement in Indian infrastructure. Built at a cost of Rs.1,486 crore over a span of more than eight years, the iconic bridge stands taller than the Eiffel Tower and is being hailed as a marvel of modern engineering.
Following the Chenab bridge inauguration, the Prime Minister also launched India's first cable-stayed rail bridge built across the Anji river. Holding the tricolour, Modi walked along the newly inaugurated Chenab bridge, symbolizing a new chapter in rail connectivity to the Himalayan region.
