India, April 4 -- The Congress has announced its plan to challenge the constitutionality of the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025, in the Supreme Court, just hours after it was passed by Parliament. The party accused the Modi government of pushing an anti-minority agenda and undermining constitutional principles.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge voiced strong opposition, stating that the bill was introduced arbitrarily despite resistance from multiple parties. "The atmosphere in the country regarding the Waqf Board Amendment Bill is such that it feels like this bill has been brought to harass minorities," Kharge posted on X.
