India, Nov. 26 -- Chief Justice of India Surya Kant on Wednesday hailed the indispensable role of the Bar in safeguarding the rule of law and upholding the sanctity of the Constitution, describing lawyers as the "torchbearers" who guide the judiciary in fulfilling its constitutional responsibilities.
Addressing the Constitution Day celebrations organised by the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), the CJI said that while the courts are seen as sentinels of the Constitution, the Bar ensures that justice reaches every corner of society.
