Sri Lanka, March 20 -- A train has collided with a vehicle that had stalled at the railway crossing between Liyanwala and Watareka, disrupting services on the Kelani Valley railway line, according to Sri Lanka Railways.
The Meegoda Police reported that the vehicle collided with the train while attempting to cross the tracks.
Investigations revealed that the railway crossing gate operator was absent at the time of the incident, resulting in the gate being left open.
The driver of the vehicle was subsequently transported to Padukka Divisional Hospital.
Although he sustained minor injuries, his condition is not considered serious, as confirmed by the police.
