Sri Lanka, Dec. 22 -- The Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (SLCERT) says that reports of financial fraud committed by various individuals claiming to sell goods online have increased.
The Chief Information Security Engineer at SLCERT, Nirosh Ananda stated that before ordering goods online, the public should obtain accurate and reliable information about the relevant organization.
Ananda further noted that complaints have also been received over the past few days regarding fraud taking place in relation to providing financial assistance to people affected by disasters.
Therefore, the public has been urged to remain vigilant when purchasing goods online during the festive period.
