Sri Lanka, June 1 -- The Supreme Court is set to announce whether or not to grant leave for the Fundamental Rights (FR) petitions filed challenging the date set by the Elections Commission for the General Election, at 3 pm tomorrow (June 02).

The further hearing of the Fundamental Rights petitions filed challenging the date set by the Elections Commission for the General Election commenced for the 10th day this morning (01).

The petitions are being heard before the Supreme Court's five-member judge bench consisting of Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya, Justices Buwaneka Aluvihare, Sisira de Abrew, Priyantha Jayawardena, and Vijith Malalgoda.
