Sri Lanka, Nov. 28 -- The Meteorology Department has issued a 'Red' alert warning for the land and the sea areas around the island due to the Cyclonic Storm "Ditwah."
Accordingly, the Cyclonic Storm "Ditwah" is centered near latitude 8.3degN and longitude 81.0degE, about 40km Southwest of Trincomalee, and is very likely to move north-northwestwards, the Department of Meteorology stated.
Due to the influence of this system, prevailing heavy showers and strong winds over the island are expected to continue.
Accordingly, intermittent showers and thundershowers will occur over most parts of the island.
