Sri Lanka, Jan. 14 -- Around 6 kg of Crystal Methamphetamine ("Ice") and 5 kg of heroin were recovered, and two suspects along with their vehicle were taken into custody by the Expressway Highway Police at the Godagama-Palatuwa interchange on the Southern Expressway, police said.

Earlier today, officers stationed at the Palatuwa exit of the Godagama Interchange signaled a vehicle traveling from Colombo to stop for inspection. Upon being signaled, the driver and an additional occupant attempted to flee the scene; however, both individuals were successfully apprehended by the officers.

A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the seizure of around 6 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and 5 kilograms of heroin.
