Sri Lanka, Jan. 7 -- The Parliamentary Pensions (Repeal) Bill, which seeks to repeal the Parliamentary Pensions Law (No. 1 of 1979), has been presented in Parliament.
The Bill was presented by the Minister of Justice and National Integration, Harshana Nanayakkara during this morning's (07) Parliamentary session.
Earlier this week, the Parliamentary Pensions (Repeal) bill was gazetted to repeal the Parliamentary Pensions Act.
The draft bill seeks to abolish the pension entitlements for Members of Parliament and their spouses currently in place based on provisions of the Parliamentary Pensions Act.
