Sri Lanka, Aug. 3 -- The number of shooting incidents reported across the country in 2025 has risen to 76.

This includes the shooting incident reported in Kapugoda, Matara this morning.

A 48-year-old individual sustained injuries in the incident.

Shootings in 2025 have resulted in the deaths of 41 individuals, while 43 others have also sustained injuries, police stated.
