Sri Lanka, Dec. 29 -- The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) has requested the public to remain alert to landslide early warnings.

According to the NBRO, based on the weather forecast issued by the Department of Meteorology, rainfall is expected in the Northern, North Central, Eastern, Uva, and Central Provinces over the next few days starting today (29).

Accordingly, the NBRO has advised the public-especially those living in mountainous areas and along river banks-to exercise extra caution.

The NBRO has also urged residents of houses and areas already inspected and identified as being at risk of landslides to strictly follow the instructions that have already been issued.
