Sri Lanka, Jan. 2 -- The SJB Chairman of the Matugama Pradeshiya Sabha, Kasun Munasinghe, has been remanded until January 8 by the Matugama Magistrate's Court.

The order was issued by the Magistrate after the accused was produced before the court today (02) in connection with an alleged incident of obstructing the duties of the Secretary of the Pradeshiya Sabha.

According to police, the Secretary had lodged a complaint alleging that the Chairman had obstructed her duties at the Pradeshiya Sabha premises this morning (2).

Following the complaint, police arrested the PS Chairman this afternoon (2) after recording his statement and produced him before the court.
