Sri Lanka, Nov. 24 -- A person who was involved in illegal excavation of artifacts has been arrested in the Batuwewa area of Thanamalwila.

Several excavation tools used in the illegal operations were also seized, the Thanamalwila police stated.

The arrested individual has been identified as a 52-year-old resident of Suriyaara, police said.

The Thanamalwila Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
