Sri Lanka, July 25 -- An International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission team, led by Evan Papageorgiou, IMF Mission Chief for Sri Lanka, concluded its visit to Colombo from July 21 to 25, 2025.
The mission was undertaken to assess recent macroeconomic developments and evaluate progress in implementing the economic and financial policies under Sri Lanka's reform agenda, supported by the IMF's Extended Fund Facility (EFF) arrangement.
In an end of mission statement, the IMF team noted that the economic reforms implemented by the Sri Lankan authorities are bearing fruit, with economic growth outperforming expectations, inflation moving toward target, external reserves accumulating, and fiscal revenues improving.
