Sri Lanka, Nov. 26 -- The former National People's Power (NPP) Peliyagoda Urban Councillor's husband, who was arrested in Anuradhapura for the possession of heroin and subsequently suspended from his position as a school principal in Eppawala, has been further remanded.

He has been remanded until December 10 by the Thambuththegama Magistrate's Court.

The individual was arrested with over a kilogram of heroin on November 5.

The individual was apprehended based on information obtained from a 30-year-old man arrested in Nallamudawa, Eppawala, by the Anuradhapura Divisional Crime Investigation Division.
