Sri Lanka, June 23 -- A fire has broken out in a three-story building located in Kadawatha.
The fire has broken out in a textile shop located along the Colombo-Kandy main road in Kadawatha, police stated.
Three fire trucks and several firefighters from Colombo and Gampaha fire brigades have already been dispatched to assist in dousing the flames.
The fire is reported to be under control, while officers of the Kadawatha Police and Special Task Force (STF) personnel from the Eldeniya camp have been deployed to secure the area.
The cause of the fire has not been ascertained thus far.
Meanwhile, Police have urged motorists to use alternative routes to minimize congestion in and around the Kadawatha town.
